The (45th) Party's Over...

With lots of time to get reacquainted, over 100 folks enjoyed our 45th Reunion aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach. We all had a great time (see "Classmate Reviews"), but we really missed those who couldn't make it (see below for efforts to find everyone).

There was a huge picture of the 1962 class for everyone to sign, and it will be there for the 50th reunion to get those who didn't sign it this time! We learned little known facts about our classmates, and gave away mementos and door prizes, including tickets for two to the 50th reunion (Elaine Sassoe won them).

Other things:

• Lots of thanks go to those who contributed to the reunion. Especially:
  • Diane (Finn) Dagestino who made the arrangements for the Queen Mary.
  • Gary Bosley who created the super huge class photo and served as the "official" photographer.
  • Nancy (Kinsman) Richie who provided commemorative picture frames.
  • Elaine Benioff (Suzi Osborne) who provided commemorative luggage tags.
  • The committee members who contributed in untold ways to bring this all together: Barry Dagestino, Judy Pons, Jane Clay Anderson, Paula Crochet Holmes, Lynn Adkins, Howard Wood, Diane Finn Dagestino, and Read Gilgen.
• We seemed to have lost more than we found this time around. Look here for information on an ad hoc sleuthing committee to help locate folks. We also plan to stay in touch more frequently, mostly by email, so when 2012 rolls around, we don't have to scramble to find you.
• If you have photos you'd like to contribute, please send them to Read Gilgen (jpg format, on CD if you have lots of them)

45th Reunion Getting Close

There hasn't been a lot to report, but we want to make sure everyone knows about the reunion on Saturday, September 22, and doesn't miss this great chance to get together. Please also check our "Missing Moors" page and let us know if you know where someone is. Otherwise, we have no way to spread the word.

At this point we expect about 100 to attend the luncheon aboard the Queen Mary. Want to see who's coming? Check the guest list. Make sure you're on it too! If you're not, please contact Barry Dagestino asap to register. The price is $45 per person and covers lunch and parking.

In addition to exquisite surroundings, food, and company, there will be special AHS 62 decoration, door prizes, and mementos.

Also, several rooms have been reserved for AHS alumni for either Friday or Saturday night (or both) at a special price of only $139. Attendees can either call Diane Dagestino directly at (562) 499-1701 or call Ashley in The Queen Mary group reservations department at (562) 499-1724 and ask for the Alhambra High School Class of '62 Reunion rate. They're going fast, so don't delay.

Finally, Barry Dagestino and Lynn Adkins have the hospitality suite at the Queen Mary, and activities there will take place on Friday evening at 6 p.m.

45th Reunion Announced

Your votes have been counted. Your voices heard. There will be a 45th Reunion luncheon on September 22, 2007 at the fabulous Queen Mary.
