Hi everyone, I've been trying to decide how to write this biography. It is really difficult to put 40 years into a few paragraphs. While vacationing in Hawaii one summer back in the late 60's, I met my future husband Tony. At the time he was in the Navy, stationed at Pearl harbor. I ended up living and working in Hawaii for a year. We married in 1970 and have lived in Northern California since that time. I graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. Through the YWCA of Sonoma County, I am now an advocate for victims of domestic violence. Among other responsibilities, I facilitate support groups, and do courtroom and mediation accompaniments. My husband Tony has had a successful career in the fire service for over 32 years, and is fire chief for the city of Santa Rosa, where we live. We have two wonderful daughters, Laura, 27, and Melissa, 25. Laura graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. She works as a human resource specialist and accounts manager in San Ramon. Melissa graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance. She works as a dance and musical theatre instructor in San Diego. I really enjoyed helping (tried anyway) and watching them grow up, and now I like seeing them grown-up, too. We love to travel wherever and whenever we can. We like to go to far away places like London, Portugal or Morocco, but equally enjoy Oklahoma City or Jackson, Mississippi. Tony is an art enthusiast, so we get to visit lots of art museums! For relaxation, I love to read and to sew. I am now trying to get used to my new prescription progressive lenses and to learn how to work my new computerized sewing machine!! Looking forward to the reunion. Love, Elaine |
