BS Electronics Engineering from Cal Poly, Pomona and MBA from Cal State LA. Began work at General Dynamics Missile Division, Pomona in 1967. Developed and primarily tested new guided missiles like Stinger. This took me to 22 different states, Europe and the Middle East. Company sold to Hughes Aircraft in 1994 and they moved me (kicking and screaming) to Tucson, AZ. Company sold to Raytheon in 1997 but unfortunately stayed in Tucson. Retired the day I was eligible in 1999 and returned to CA. Went to work for the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Pt. Hueneme. Job title is Flight Test Director, which means I get to shoot missiles mostly off of Pt. Mugu, at White Sands, NM and coming soon Hawaii and Australia. Built the nicest retirement home I could afford in 2000 in Camarillo (rated one of 3 best climates in USA).
No wife, no ex-wife, no kids, and not much hair left. Closest thing to a hobby has been 35 years of driving, racing, and showing Corvettes. Will continue hobby until I am to old to get in and out of them (which may not be much longer). Plan to retire in 2 years, 2 months and 19 days (not that I am counting). Two phase retirement plan. Phase 1: Use up 2.4 million frequent flyer miles. Phase 2: Decide what I want to be when I grow up.
