We are still enjoying life on the north coast. My husband has been retired for 5 years after working as a soil scientist and is appreciative of the time he gets to spend pursuing his many interests such as photography and old timey banjo playing. We live in a rural area that gets substantial rainfall so he does spend time making sure the vegetation doesn't overtake our house! I love my halftime job as a physical therapist working at an adult day health care facility. I actually look forward to Mondays! I also have been teaching a strength training class at a senior center for almost 7 years. Right now I'm going with the flow as long as my body and brain hold out! I continue to teach Sunday school at our small fellowship in the woods--not too many mega churches in this area. Our daughter is a teacher and has had experience in many different settings--the most exotic was teaching for a year in China. Sheila McCoy Klick and I visited her there and had a most memorable trip! Our daughter will be teaching kindergarten in the fall. Our son is married and we now have a 9 month old granddaughter! He is an environmental engineer but thinks he might like to be a teacher. My mother is 96 and still lives in Alhambra so I make frequent trips "down south." I love keeping in contact with "old" friends and I'm looking forward to seeing many of you in September! |
