Bio

Long overdue update:

Retired in 2007 (10 years ago!) and moved to our home in St George, UT. We love the warm weather (i.e., no snow shoveling!) and the beautiful red rock country and national parks near us. In 2008-2010 we served a mission as a couple in Nashville Tennessee (including south central Kentucky). A wonderful experience. Then returned home to play grandparents to growing grandkids. Took a fabulous 3-week driving trip through Europe in 2013. Then from 2015-2016 we served another mission, working in the Madrid Spain Temple for the LDS Church. We do lots of volunteer work and taxi duty for our grandkids. I'm having fun being a train engineer on a scale replica of an 1864 locomotive at one of our city parks. Old age is catching up with us and we're a bit slower, but still feel blessed with decent health.

Original Post:

Attended Brigham Young University (62-63, 65-68). Served two-year mission for Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) in Argentina. Married Susan McBride in 1966. Grad school at UC Irvine (1968-73; PhD in Latin American Literature). Taught at Univ of North Carolina (Chapel Hill), then at Univ of Wisconsin (Madison). Since 1981 have been director of Learning Support Services (instructional technology) at UW. Recent president of International Assn for Language Learning Technology. Wrote several books on WordPerfect and PowerPoint. Five children, all grown and gone, some married, all wonderful (!). Seven grandkids, so far. Recently served as bishop for our church. Sue and I are building a retirement home in St George, Utah, but won't actually retire there for another few years.

I've had great fun building this web page, and gathering information and memories about our time at AHS. I look forward to seeing you all at the 40th reunion in September 2002.
